Moujadara Recipe October 12 2014

Ingredients

  • 500g lentils
  • 2 cups coarse burghul
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 onion – diced
  • 3 teaspoons of oil
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Boil the lentils for 10 minutes – drain.
  2. Add the water and the burghul and mix.
  3. Fry the onion in the oil until beginning to brown.
  4. Place on top of the lentil and burghul mix. Cover and cook on low heat until the water has been absorbed.
  5. Serve with tabouli, turnips and tzatziki.
